Thanks to all who made possible our wonderful visit to London Zoo. Islington residents and members of Whittington Community Centre joined us for a day of creativity, learning and connection with nature.
Thanks to the generous collaboration of London Zoo and Whittington Community Centre, everyone was able to enjoy concession entry tickets and a free lunch, ensuring the day was accessible and welcoming for all. Mei Mei Social CIC also organised free return transport, making it easier for participants to take part without financial barriers.
Throughout the day, we explored the zoo together, learning how to observe and photograph animals and their surroundings while developing our creative eye. We also brought along sketchbooks and art materials, encouraging participants to slow down, draw from life, and capture the unique personalities and movements of the animals through sketching.
To keep everyone refreshed, our CIC provided drinks and art materials, helping create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere where creativity and conversation could flourish.
These cultural and creative outings are an important part of our programme, offering opportunities to build confidence, reduce social isolation, improve wellbeing and make lasting friendships while discovering London's inspiring cultural and natural spaces.
A huge thank you to London Zoo and Whittington Community Centre for their generosity and support in making this memorable day possible.
